I Used to Work Here is a personal menswear series Michiel Spijkers made with one of his regular teams, built around the loose narrative of following an artist.
The poetic, aesthetic approach let Michiel push his fashion photography further, and the series went on to lead directly to further follow-up series including Kizu and client commissions.
About the project
I Used to Work Here is a free, self-initiated menswear series built around a loosely poetic narrative: the series follows an artist figure closely, using that as the visual hook for the clothing.
Michiel made it mainly to explore and sharpen his fashion photography, and it directly led to further series (including Kizu, made with the same team) as well as client commissions.
